Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson was born in 1958, the 7th of nine children. He began his musical career at the age of 5 as the lead singer of the Jackson 5, who formed in 1964. The Jackson 5 recorded 14 albums, before Michael continued as a solo artist, selling more albums than any other performer.
In 1984 Michael Jackson had won a record breaking 8 Grammy awards in one night. By 1995 Jackson had won 37 music and video awards.
Although numerous rumors had circled around Jackson throughout his career, his reputation remained virtuous. In 1993 however, Jackson was accused of child abuse by a teenage friend and his image suffered serious damage. All the while Jackson was vehement about his innocence, adamantly denying the accusations. The civil case was settled out of court in 1994.
Michael Jackson was married to Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis Presley, in 1994, and divorced in 1996. Jackson married Debbie Rowe, a nurse who had help him when he was treated for a skin pigment disorder (turning his black skin, white). Jackson and Rowe had add two children, a boy and girl, and then were divorced in 1999. Jackson retained custody of the children. He has since had one more child, the mother has not been disclosed.
Jackson is also known for instigating the Heal the World Foundation, spearheading airlifts of food and medical supplies to war-torn Sarajevo, instituted mentoring, immunization and drug-abuse education programs and paid for the liver transplant for a Hungarian child.
